    • WorkSmart provides training to enrollees. Job seekers who are enrolled in WorkSmart have an added bonus of participating in additional testing, training and coaching of basic skills through its Skill Busters program. Area providers of SKill Buster training services, helping you track those who go the extra mile to get a job, log training efforts made by enrollees into the database.
    • WorkSmart is a FREE search tool. Only pay the annual subscription price when you find someone that you want to interview.
    • WorkSmart pays. The on-line subscription fee is priced so you recover your annual fee PLUS make money when you make your FIRST hire through WorkSmart.

    Note: WorkSmart is not an employment agency and your company still needs to follow normal hiring and screening practices for prospects. WorkSmart, though, makes your job easier to find applicants...and save money.

    What is Chattanooga WorkSmart?
    Chattanooga WorkSmart is an unique program sponsored by the Mayor's Office to help employers located in the RC zone find employees who are also located in the zone. This makes it easier for employers to take advantage of the Employment Tax Credit.

    How does Chattanooga WorkSmart find residents?
    Through grassroot efforts, Chattanooga WorkSmart actively recruits residents of the RC zone who are looking for a job or a better job. All candidates entered into our database have been pre-screend for you. We require all enrollees to complete:

    • Enrollment Form--similar to a job application
    • Quick Test--tests remedial Math and Reading skills
    • Life Skills Test--tests "job readiness" of an enrollee
    • Exit Interview--our counselors review the enrollment form with the candidate and puts them on a "Skill Busters" path

    WorkSmart shows basic information employers want to know about prospects- prior owrk history, wage, education, training, etc. WorkSmart also shows whether a candidate passed or failed their initial Life Skills and Quick tests. Additionally WorkSmart will show if the candidate has made the extra effort to participate in Skill Busters training. There are a wide range of skill levels and backgrounds of WorkSmart job seekers ... from professionals to entry-level skills.

    How can I sign up?
    You may sign up for a demonstration account by clicking here. This account will let you browse through our database with no cost to you. You can search by a variety of criteria to find the right person for your open positions. With the demonstration account you will not be able to access any contact information for the WorkSmart Candidates. When you subscribe, you can get access to all names and contact information for one full year.

    Is there a cost associated with the Chattanooga WorkSmart Database? How do I subscribe?
    There is an annual fee when you subscribe to Chattanooga WorkSmart. After paying your annual fee, you will receive UNLIMITED access to the database for an entire year (based on sign up date). The annual cost for using the WorkSmart Database is usually less than you would pay for a classified ad in the newspaper. WorkSmart pays for itself by HIRING JUST ONE PERSON from the  Renewal Community Zone and taking advantage of the Employment Tax Credit (up to $1500 a year, per employee)
